Hi,

As a beginner its always a question how to start with Afaria implementation what are the steps to follow ,what can be a  RoadBlocker for the project .

Small notes how to start with a Afaria implementation and point to be followed.

1. Assuming POC completed and We are at stage we have to start with Afaria implementation. ( Hardware ,server seizing already provided with all ports details)

2. Before we start with the Implementation please always note all the prerequisite are in order ( Server with all patch installed , Ports details to be open , SSL Certificate Approval). This are few things we can lead a pause in project due to long process of IT security approval from the client end.

3. Before start make sure all the ports are open and server with proper OS  , Patch and Service pack .

4.  Creating Database is mostly handle by Client Internal Database Team , We had to make sure all the details of database are been provided by database team at the time installation .( Note : All the relevant roles and rights as per the afaria database requirement should be provide by us to database team before the start of database creation.

5. Start with Afaria server , API  , Client and there component installation . ( If its HA Design make sure all Master & Slave is Completed with Afaria Installation).

6. If CA server is applicable (IOS device) , Create the CA Server and make sure all the Steps for creating CA server is followed properly.

7. Create Relay server and generate the CSR for SSL certificate and forward the CSR to relevant client team for the certificate generate ( This process normally takes 1-2 days ). Note : SSL certificate is Mandatory for IOS device.

8. Assuming You have completed Afaria server + Relay server + CA server installation . Start with the configuration of Afaria server settings in console.

9. Configuration of RSOE files and starting all outbound enabler.

9. Check the Availability of relay server for the connection between relayserver and outbound enabler . You can test the http:\\relayserverip\rs_server.dll file where we can check the Availability which can be show in ( NONE , Partial , Full).

NONE: No Communication between relay and outbound

Partial : Not all outbound enabler communicating between relay server

Full     : Fully connected all outbound enabler.

10. Can check the diagnostic in server console to check all the ports and connecting proper working.

10. Create group according the client requirement , creating policy as per the scope define by client .

11. Do remember to create one Test Group for testing purpose ( note : if client is not going with test environment).

12. Enroll 1st device and test all the policies are tested on device.

Enrolling should always carried in Phase 0-100 , 100-300, 300-500 ( Depend on the no of device divide in phase).

Make sure the connectivity on device also if WIFI relevant ports .

13. Provide all the Knowledge base to client with all the documents for the installation , troubleshoot ..

Thanks
